The Cell Blades



This document will outline the specifications of the blades using the Cell Broadband Engine cpu's in this cluster. There are two types the QS20 and the QS21.



The QS20 in the Cluster

We currently have 12 QS20's in the cluster for use. Each contains 2 CBE which each contain one ppu and 8 spu/spe's respectively.

The QS21 in the cluster

This is the new cell blade on loan from IBM which will be used as a user blade for compilation because of its extra memory.
